Fred Simpson's first book of poems has been published as an e-book by Original Writings in Dublin, and it is already available on line through Amazon, Sony and Apple etc. through his website http://www.fredsimpsonwriter.com
A brief Synopsis of his new poetry e-book
Because these poems are off-centre, they vibrate. When you listen to them, your spine begins to tingle. They are divided into units of seven: a most mystical number. Furthermore, there are seven such units. Forty-nine, or seven squared, is the time a dead person’s soul takes to find its new home. This book is that journey. The poems take you to where being and not-being happen simultaneously. The effect could be life-changing.
Author’s Biography
Fred Simpson was born in 1949 in South Africa, but was raised and educated in Zimbabwe. He briefly taught English in Bulawayo in the ’70s, and then studied medicine in Cape Town. The focus of his medical career has always been in rural practice, first in South Africa, and then in New Zealand, which he and his family moved to in 1987.
He continues to work as a doctor, but his ‘secret love’ of writing, (producing the occasional poem), is no longer a secret! In the past few years he has written a short novel and a two act play (both unpublished), as well as a number of poems, several of which have been published in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
He lives in Cambridge, New Zealand, with his wife and his dog. His two children live abroad.
